There are several awards or bursary schemes, primarily aimed at students and early career researchers, that were available to help with attendance at Carbon 2022. 

1. Royal Society of Chemistry Award for Best Poster Presention
   Based on the extended abstracts, the Royal Society of Chemistry will be awarding a Best Poster Abstract prize in the form of a £200 book voucher redeemable for select titles from the range of Royal Society of Chemistry books. All extended poster abstracts received will be automatically eligible for this prize, there is no special application procedure.
   
2. AttoNuclei Prize for Nanodots and Biomedicine
   This year we are pleased to announce a new AttoNuclei prize for the best poster in the areas of "Applications of graphene and carbon quantum dots in nano-biotechnologies".  All posters on relevant subjects with presenting authors who are PhD or postdocs will be automatically included for the prize, there is no separate submission process.  The winner will receive a certificate and €500 prize money, to be announced during the conference.
3. European Carbon Association Award (submission deadline 4th April 2022)
   This award recognises a significant contribution to carbon science or carbon technology brought by a scientist or engineer. The award is open to any European citizen in the broad sense, wherever they work in the world, and to any non-European citizen, provided that their career was mainly conducted in Europe.The award includes a certificate and prize money of 1200 Euros. 4. Carbon Journal Prize (submission deadline 5th June 2022).
   Full details of the prize are available here. Carbon Journal Prize is given for "an outstanding Ph.D. thesis in carbon material science and technology". The prize includes an award certificate, and a cash prize of 1,000 USD as travel funds to help the recipient attend a scientific conference of their choosing, present their research findings, and interact with the international carbon community.
   

Travel Bursaries:

1. British Carbon Group Travel Awards
   Smaller awards for UK scientists to help with travel costs.
2. Royal Society of Chemistry 
   has travel grants, notably for PhD students and early career scientists, who are members of the RSC.
3. Institute of Physics (IOP)
   has a research student travel fund for PhD members of the IoP (currently on hold).
