The conference presentations took place in the Great Hall (seats up to 700), two lecture theatres (Pippard and Read) also in the Sherfield building directly above the great Hall). The focus of the conference was the Queens Tower Rooms, a large luminous space which opens out directly onto the main lawns at Imperial College London. Posters, and Exhibition space for sponsors were here, along with the reception and with all refreshment breaks and the posters. A really lovely location!

Imperial College lies right in the heart of the bustling central London region of South Kensington, surrounded by some of London's most popular tourist destinations including the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and many others. 

South Kensington has a large number of hotels and bed-and-breakfasts within easy walking distance of the conference site, as well as student accommodation at the University site available from Monday 4th July. London is one of the most connected cities in the world with direct flights links around the globe from Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The Eurostar train connects directly to Paris (2'40"), Brussels (2 hours), and Lille (1'20") and from there to the rest of the continental Europe high speed train network.
